NY Women in Film and TV Online Shorts Festival

Graphic detailing the terms for the 2022 New York Women in Film and Television online shorts festival

March is Women’s History Month, a time for everyone to celebrate and acknowledge all of the accomplishments, innovations, and contributions of women throughout history.

Starting today, the 5th Annual New York Women in Film and Television Online Shorts Festival is available to watch on iWomanTV! The festival features many talented female writers, actors, directors, and producers.

The film and television industry is still a heavily male-dominated field. This is clear particularly in leadership roles like producer and director. Only two women, Kathryn Bigelow and Chloé Zhao, have won an Oscar for Best Director throughout the Academy Awards 94-year history, and Chloé Zhao just won last year.

Women in film and television are powerful creatives and deserve to have their stories told from their own point of view. Start Women’s History Month off strong by watching and sharing these films. Let’s show some love for the members of NYWIFT and all their hard work!

There are films of multiple genres, so there is sure to be something to enjoy. Audience viewership is extra important for this film festival because the filmmaker with the most views will get to take home $1,000 cash prize as part of the Audience Choice Award! Second and third place will be awarded $500 and $250, respectively. All month long, celebrate Women’s History Month by supporting some awesome women and their short films.

The films will be available to view for the month of March on iWoman.TV and the Audience Choice winners will be announced April 8th.
